Let’s take a look at the Windows Phone Store and see which apps are at the top of the charts when it comes to the free, paid, and trending categories. You might even discover your new favorite app! After all, the Windows Phone Store is home to over 250,000 apps worldwide.
As of June 29th, the top-five free apps in the United States are Nokia Creative Studio, Pandora, Facebook, Instagram Beta, and HERE Maps. The top-five paid apps are myTube, Movie Maker 8.1, OneMusic, Metrotune, and Flashlight+. The top-five trending apps are Bing Rewards, 6tin, Free MP3 Music, Doorstep, and Vivino Wine Scanner.
The top-five free games are Angry Birds Epic, 100 Balls, Piano Tiles Don’t Tap The White Tile, Heroes of Order & Chaos, and Make It Rain Money. The top-five paid games are Cut The Rope Exp, Angry Birds, Sonic CD, Where’s My Perry, and Toy Story Smash It.

myTube ($0.99) – Currently the top-paid app in the Windows Phone Store, myTube is a YouTube app built to keep your video playing no matter what. “By lightly fading the video into the background, you can continue to watch while you read comments, browse channels and videos, and everything else you can do in the app. If you can do something in the app, then you can do it while watching a video!” the app description reads.
This app allows you to watch a video while reading comments and browsing. The app supports HD videos, as well as the ability to rate, comment, and share videos. You can browse through playlists and add your own videos to playlists. You can even browse and subscriber to your favorite channels. This app comes packed with many YouTube features and is a must-have app for Windows Phone.
OneMusic ($1.99) – “OneMusic is the first fully featured alternative for your built in music player. Enjoy your favorite music in a beautiful, clean and simple way. OneMusic will play all your music stored on your device. It is fast, customizable, allows you to create and manage playlists and so much more,” the app description reads.
With OneMusic, you now have an excellent alternative to Xbox Music to manage your music. The app is beautifully designed and was recently made available to the Windows Phone Store. OneMusic is also currently in the top-five paid apps list.
Bing Rewards (free) – The Bing Rewards program is a great incentive to use Microsoft’s search engine. Mobile apps have already been released for both iOS and Android, and today Microsoft finally launched the Windows Phone version. The app works in very much the same way as those found on other platforms, and can be downloaded free of charge.

6tin (free) – Not that long ago, talks between Tinder, a matchmaking service, and Rudy had begun after Tinder saw an issue with Rudy’s 6tindr app. The app was pulled and was unavailable for months until now – reappearing as 6tin. Turns out, the talks between the two parties somehow broke down so there will not be an official Tinder app after all. At least not yet.
“6tin is the first full featured Tinder app for Windows Phone (previously named 6tindr) Tinder is the way everyone is meeting new people. We find out who likes you nearby and connect you with them if you’re also interested,” the app description reads. 6tin requires a Facebook login.
Doorstep (free) – “Doorstep is a free universal package tracking app for Windows Phone 8.1 and Windows 8.1. Doorstep has support for eight carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL Express, Royal Mail, Canada Post, LaserShip, and UPS Mail Innovations) with plans for more in the future.
Doorstep is a fantastic app that is currently trending in the Windows Phone Store and allows you to track as many packages as you want. The app is free and contains no advertisements. There is also push notifications to keep you updated on shipping progress as well as Live tiles and badge notifications. In fact, the app will auto-detect the carrier too! This is a must-have app for those of you who shop online.
Angry Birds Epic (free) – Rovio Entertainment recently released the new title to its Angry Birds franchise: Angry Birds Epic. It features a fantasy-adventure story. There are several new things you will experience this time. As always, the characters Red, Chuck, and Bomb explore the Piggy Island to battle the pig villains.
“In this all-new role-playing game, you lead your heroic flock into battle against the green snout-nosed scoundrels in a fantasy Piggy Island. From tribal villages and frosty mountains to tropical beaches and mysterious caves, get ready to navigate your way through this treacherous land and meet all kinds of wacky and offbeat characters,” the plot reads.
The new game features new battles, fantasy worlds, and several new characters (King Pig, Wiz Pig, Prince Porky and more). Plus Rovio promises that there are a lot of humorous elements all over the place too. Take out your phone and try the game now! It is currently the top-free game in the Windows Phone Store.
Pop Gem (free) – “Pop Gem is an exciting block breaking game. Your aim is to remove the blocks of same color,and don’t let the blocks reach the top. Also your can buy lots of items from Store with the coins earn from the game,” the app description reads.
This game features over 40 puzzle stages and Xbox Live support. You can pick your favorite items and start destroying gems. Finish each level to unlock more items. Give this app a try and you will probably love it!
