It’s not very long since the Lenovo Miix2 8 was released. This 8-inch Windows 8.1 tablet has been well-received, and what is particularly impressive about the device is its price-tag — just $299. But there have been complaints about poor battery life and this is something that is addressed in a tiny update from Microsoft.
According to Microsoft Knowledge Base article, the problem prevents the tablets from entering a low power state when not in use — this would understandably lead to a decrease in battery life.
The update is being released off-schedule. Rather than forcing tablet owners to wait until Patch Tuesday, Microsoft is making the update available now.
Assuming Automatic Updates are enabled, there’s nothing to do — just sit back and wait for it to be downloaded and installed. But if you have disabled this feature or want to grab it for manually updating purposes, grab yourself a copy using the download link below. Weighing in at a mere 239KB it’s an update well worth installing.
