The Windows 365 app goes live on Microsoft Store for Windows 11

This year, during Microsoft’s annual conference for developers and IT professionals, Ignite 2022, the company made a lot of announcements as well as enhancements to its products and services. Narrowing it down to Windows 365, it was announced that a new app was being launched, the Windows 365 app, and further indicated that it would be available on Microsoft Store for Windows 11.

The Windows 365 app is designed for Windows 11 users to access their cloud PCS conveniently from their devices. Users can get to enjoy its offerings by downloading it from the Microsoft Store as it is now available in public preview.

According to a Techcommunity post by Microsoft:

With Windows 365 app, you can access your Windows 365 Cloud PC from the taskbar or the Start menu, enjoying a full Windows 11 experience while moving between your local and Cloud PCs. Supported by all Windows 11 devices, the app delivers high-performing and reliable experiences optimized for Microsoft Teams and your other Microsoft 365 apps.

In other related news, Windows 365 Government has hit general availability for Government Community Cloud and Government Community Cloud High organizations in the United States.

The Citrix HDX Plus for Windows 365, was introduced this year during Inspire 2022 to enhance support for a broader range of endpoint devices and peripherals and security and policy controls. The Windows 365 add-on is now available in public preview and set to reach broad availability later on in the year. It is currently available for all customers in the Microsoft Intune console.

Update

In March 2023, the Windows 365 app shipped to general availability for Windows 10 and Windows 11 users to download. Microsoft also indicated that the Windows 365 app will start shipping as part of Windows 11. Once this is in effect, you’ll no longer need to download it from the Microsoft Store.
