Some fans are canceling their PlayStation Plus memberships in the wake of recently announced annual price increase for the service.
This announcement took place as Sony dropped what many consider one of the poorest months for PlayStation Plus free game offerings in recent memory. Subscribers lit up the internet expressing disappointment with PlayStation Plus.

As you can see from what these gamers had to say on the r/PS5 subreddit, recent decisions on the part of Sony have many questioning the value of PlayStation Plus.
Microsoft also increased the price of its Xbox Game Pass service earlier this year across the console and Ultimate tiers. However, that move did not appear to garner the same level of backlash.
This is probably due to the fact that Microsoft elects to make its first-party titles from Xbox Game Studios available with Game Pass on day one of release. Like today, for instance, with the release of Starfield—one of the most anticipated games of the year.
The PlayStation Plus price change will take effect starting today, with the Essential tier at $79.99; PS Plus Extra at $134.99 and the Premium membership at $159.99.
