Two Xbox One video games have been added to the official list of upcoming Xbox Play Anywhere titles; Tacoma and Hello Neighbor. Tacoma is already available to play on the Xbox One family of consoles and will gain Xbox Play Anywhere functionality in a free future update while Hello Neighbor is due for release in December and can be pre-ordered now. Tacoma is confirmed to be getting a significant update later in the year which will add 4K support for when it’s played on the Xbox One X console. It’s unknown if this same update will add it to Xbox Play Anywhere.
Xbox Play Anywhere essentially means that a video game can be purchased on either Xbox One or Windows 10 and will be unlocked for free on the other platform. Games with this label also support Microsoft’s Xbox Live network which allows for the cross-play and cross-save between the two versions, Friends list functionality, Xbox Achievements, and more.
Here’s the official game descriptions and shopping links for each game.
Tacoma: Tacoma is a narrative adventure set aboard a high-tech space station in the year 2088. As you go about your mission, you’ll explore every detail of how the station’s crew lived and worked, finding the clues that add up to a gripping story of trust, fear, and resolve in the face of disaster. At the heart of Tacoma is the facility’s digital surveillance system, which has captured 3D recordings of pivotal moments in the crew’s life on the station. As you explore, echoes of these captured moments surround you. You’ll use your ability to rewind, fast-forward, and move through the physical space of these complex, interwoven scenes to examine events from every angle, reconstructing the multi-layered narrative as you explore.
Hello Neighbor: Hello Neighbor is a stealth horror game about sneaking into your neighbor’s house to figure out what horrible secrets he’s hiding in the basement. You play against an advanced AI that learns from your every move. Really enjoying climbing through that backyard window? Expect a bear trap there. Sneaking through the front door? There’ll be cameras there soon. Trying to escape? The Neighbor will find a shortcut and catch you.
