Sway for iOS gets new accessibility view in latest update

Microsoft has released today a new update to its Sway digital storytelling app on iPhones and iPads. The new version 1.12 brings some usual bug fixes plus a new option that makes it more convenient to view content for people with accessibility needs.

Here is the full changelog:

  • Accessibility view – You can now turn on Accessibility view to view your Sways with reduced animation, with high contrast style, and with layout optimized for VoiceOver
  • Bug fixes – We’re always looking to improve Sway and have fixed several miscellaneous issues in this release.

While it’s nice to see that Microsoft is iterating regularly on its iOS app, please note that Sway for iOS is still mostly focused on content creation. As of today, it’s not possible to use the app to open a Sway from a web link or to browse the public collection of Sways curated by Microsoft on Sway.com. Adding some content consumption features could probably make the app even more useful on iOS devices.

You can download the app from the download link below. Let us know in the comments if you would like this app to be more versatile.
