Surface Pro with LTE gets a firmware update for better connectivity

Microsoft has released yesterday a new firmware update for its Surface Pro LTE tablet to improve cellular connectivity. The blog post only says that the new bits should “improves LTE network reliability,” with no impact on performance or battery life.

This latest update should appear as “Surface – Firmware – 18.02.08.1700” in Windows Update, and you can also download it manually from the Microsoft Download Center. As a reminder, all Surface Pro models received their last firmware update two weeks ago that delivered improved reliability.

The fifth generation Surface Pro will celebrate its first anniversary this month, but the LTE variant didn’t start shipping until the end of 2017, and for a couple of months it was only available for commercial customers.
