Just yesterday, Microsoft released a firmware update for the Surface Book 2 to enhance support for the Windows 10 April 2018 Update. Noted by Neowin, a similar update is now available for the Surface Laptop.

The new firmware update is rolling out via Windows Update and it can also be manually downloaded in MSI format by checking here.

According to the Surface Laptop Update History page, this update enhances support for hibernation on the Windows 10 April 2018 Update, but other than that there are no security, reliability, connectivity, performance, or battery life changes. Considering that this compatibility update is meant to enhance support for the Windows 10 April 2018 update, this is not unusual.

Surface Laptop last got a firmware update back in February, then to improve overall battery stability. Feel free to let us know in the comments below if you’re seeing this update on your Surface Laptop.
