Christmas is over and New Years Day is almost upon us but for those of you hoping to snag a brand new Surface 2 or Surface Pro 2 from Microsoft’s online store right now, you are a bit out of luck – for now. The online Microsoft Store is apparently out of stock of nearly every model of the Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2, leaving consumers with limited options.
Both the 32GB and 64GB Surface 2 models are out of stock, along with the 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB models of the Surface Pro 2. In fact, all you can purchase right now is the 512GB Surface Pro 2, which will cost you $1,799.00. The original 32GB Surface is also out of stock, but you can still snag the 64GB model.
Those of you looking to purchase a Surface 2 or Surface Pro 2 will either have to wait until the stock is replenished after this holiday season is over, or head over to Best Buy, Staples, or Amazon.com to check for availability. Microsoft has provided a convenient way for consumers to purchase the next-gen tablet devices with the online Microsoft Store, but acquiring the device can be a bit of a challenge when it is out of stock.
Staples, at the time of this post, is already sold out of the 256GB Surface Pro 2 model, while the other models are still available – for now. Best Buy, on the other hand, has sold out of the 512GB Surface Pro 2 model, while the other models are still available. Amazon.com, unfortunately, has a very limited stock available right now with only two of the 64GB Surface Pro 2 models available and the rest of the line-up nearly sold out.
If you are looking to buy a Surface 2 or Surface Pro 2 right now, head over to Staples, Best Buy, or Amazon.com to check for availability. If not, you will have to wait until Microsoft replenishes their stock. You can also try your luck at a Microsoft retail store. Don’t forget to call first, before heading over to the retail store, to avoid the unnecessary trip.
Having these devices out of stock can mean two things. One, Microsoft did not have enough of these units in stock in the first place. Or two, these devices were in high demand over the holidays. We are hoping it was the latter.Further reading: Microsoft, Microsoft Store, Surface 2
