News is beginning to stir for fans anxious about Minecraft: The Movie, which was first teased over two years ago. Warner Bros' interpretation of the smash Mojang title Minecraft is creeping ever along as they begin to start casting roles.
According to Variety news, the first on their list is Steve Carell. Known for his star performances in The 40 Year Old Virgin and NBC show The Office, Carell could be the TNT to blow the Minecraft movie's reputation up a notch.
Of course, he's not a guaranteed shoe-in. Variety reports that he's just in 'talks,' meaning that the casting is still up in the air without Warner Bros leaving us any clues otherwise. We still don't even know if the movie is live-action or animated, a secret that both the production and Mojang seem unwilling to part with.
Nevertheless, many fans are eager to see the game's adaptation reaching the big screen even if we have to wait until May 24, 2019. Do you have any actors and actresses that you'd like to see on Minecraft: The Movie? What are you expecting the title will be like?
