Steve Ballmer now one step closer in owning the LA Clippers basketball team

For all you die hard basketball fans out there, former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is now one step closer in owning the LA Clippers. Ballmer was given the approval by Clippers owner Donald Sterling to purchase the basketball team for $2 billion.

“I feel fabulous, I feel very good. Everything is just the way it should be, really. It may have worked out differently, but it’s good. It’s all good,” Sterling said. Sterling and his wife have mutually agreed to sell the team, after Sterling was recorded making racial remarks which prompted the need for new leadership of the team. Sterling filed a lawsuit against NBA for $1 billion, but that lawsuit was eventually dropped.

Ballmer met with Sterling’s wife and made the offer several days ago, which was approved by her. Now that Sterling himself has approved the offer, it is now up to a vote by the NBA Board of Governors to finalize the deal. Ballmer is expected to keep the team in Los Angeles, rather than relocate to Seattle, Washington.
