In a very brief announcement on the official Star Wars: Commander website, it has been announced that the video game will no longer be playable after the 30th of June 2017. "All Windows versions of STAR WARS: Commander will no longer be available to play after June 30, 2017. We appreciate your passion and commitment to our game. Thank you for playing."
A note in the site's help section confirms that this closure relates to not just the Windows phone version but the game on Windows PCs as well. It's unclear why the game is being discontinued on Windows platforms but since it's still going to be updated on iOS, Android, Amazon Fire, and Facebook, it's probably safe to assume that Windows users simply didn't play it that much. This isn't too surprising since Windows PCs can also play proper video games (no offense to tablet gamers) and aren't limited to touch/tablet games like iPads and Android tablets.
