The Star Wars Battlefront II video game may have received its last major content update (unless supporters of the popular petition for paid DLC have their way) on Xbox One and other platforms but it is still set to get the occasional patch when required.

The first of these minor patches is already being planned with its main focus being the easing of requirements for unlocking the new Darth Maul skin and the ANH skins for Leia and Luke. Essentially, instead of requiring 5,000 kills by the respective hero, players will only need to achieve 5,000 kills as any Dark Side hero for Maul’s new look and 5,000 kills by any Light Side hero to get Luke and Leia’s white threads.

This patch will also contain a variety of fixes and improvements for Battlefront II though these haven’t been detailed yet.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic forcing the developers to work from home and delaying productivity, a date for the patch hasn’t been locked in as of this writing though it should likely roll out before the end of this month.

In other Battlefront news, the future of in-game events has now been locked in with a set calendar for every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday going forward.

Here’s the details for what all players can expect in-game:

Mondays – Fast Spawn Event

  • Description: Spawn timers will be set to 1 sec long in assault modes for the duration of the event
  • Game Modes: Galactic Assault, Capital Supremacy, Starfighter Assault, Extraction and Strike

Wednesdays – Midweek Boost: Double XP

  • Description: Increased XP for faster ranking progression.
  • Game Modes: All modes

Fridays – Battle Point Event: Reinforcements

  • Description: Lower Battle Point costs for all reinforcements and increased numbers allowed at a time
  • Game Modes: Galactic Assault, Capital Supremacy, Extraction and Strike

Interestingly, January 1st and May the 4th will also get events on an annual basis:

Jan 1st and May 4th Only – Battle Point Event: Unlimited Power

  • Description: 90% off the Battle Point cost for everything, increased number of Reinforcements and Heroes available simultaneously, with Fast Spawn timers and Double XP in effect
  • Game Modes: Galactic Assault, Capital Supremacy, Extraction and Strike

Star Wars Battlefront II is a popular all-in-one kind of game with a single-player campaign, large and small online multiplayer ground and space battles, and a popular Heroes Versus Villains mode which lets players compete with each other in teams of four as popular Star Wars characters.

While the free content updates for the game ended last month, the playerbase still seems rather active and there’s now a petition asking EA for future paid updates to keep the game going for the next year or so.
