Star Trek Online is a free-to-play massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) already available for Windows PC, and will make its way to Xbox One and PS4 this Fall 2016. Star Trek Online allows players to create their own Star Trek story as a Captain of a Federation starship, a Klingon warrior, or be a commander of a Romulan Republic Warbird.

Star Trek Online is now in its sixth year on the PC and represents every era of Star Trek; you can even play as characters from Star Trek: Voyager, including Seven of Nine, The Doctor, Harry Kim, Neelix and Tuvok.

There is no new information on what the console graphics will look like as the Star Trek console announcement trailer only features scenes that are available on Star Trek Online for Windows PC. Executive Producer of Star Trek Online, Stephen Ricossa, assures that he will not forget the PC users that helped make Star Trek Online such an incredible game experience.

“Deferred lighting, light probes, and improvements to our High Dynamic Range lighting system combine to provide more realistic lighting that feels like a true refresh to the game. These technologies, and the skilled artists that bring them to bear, create an experience that is not only more immersive, but simply put, more beautiful. To the community that has been with us for over half a decade, I want you to know that these improvements will be coming to the PC version of the game later this year as well.”

Currently, Star Trek Online has over 100,000 player-generated missions, new factions, and features celebrity voice work from every movie and TV episode. Ricossa is looking to convert everything that made the online Windows PC experience so incredible and to translate it to Xbox One and PS4. There will also be some additional upgrades to make the transition to consoles as smooth as possible.

More information will be released in the next few months, and so stay tuned.
