Smite brings the excitement of multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) gameplay to the Xbox One. Smite is already a popular game on Windows 8.1 PCs, now it is making its way to Xbox One. Traditional MOBA games feature top-down gameplay, whereas Smite prefers to take a third person model. I like the third person view much more than the top-down view, as you can prepare to vanquish your enemies much easier and develop better gameplay strategies.
The best part of Smite is that you can play as your favorite god whether it be Thor, Hercules, Apollo, as well as more than 60 others to choose from. Each god has a unique set of skills and fight style, and everyone plays together as a part of an otherworldly team. Smite features several game modes, including Conquest, Arena, Joust, and Siege modes; each mode offers its own unique set of challenges, goals, and gameplay.
Smite promises to have a number fo different controller setups; some created by expert console gamers and uses a modified TrueSkill ranking system to make sure that you play against players way above or below your skill level so you the game will be as even-matched as possible. Smite is looking to keep each game and mode as challenging as possible, but just enough that you keep playing, improving your battle skills and keep you coming back to challenge tougher and tougher opponents.
Best of all, Smite is going to be available for free when it is released to Xbox One later this year. No official release date is set, but it looks like Smite is going to be a great MOBA addition to the Xbox One game library.
