Microsoft has rolled out an update to the Skype app for Windows Phone 8 today, bumping the version number to 2.9. In the update, Microsoft has improved the home screen and added a contacts filter. These new features are based on user feedback!
“Today we’ve released an update for Skype for Windows Phone 8. In this release we’ve focused on quality and performance improvements as we continue to build a great app that puts conversations first. Alongside this, we’ve incorporated user feedback and made improvements to the way contacts are managed, and the Skype home screen layout,” Microsoft stated in an official blog post.
Aside from the typical bug fixes and performance improvements, this update adds the ability to filter contacts by all your contacts, only Skype contacts, or only available contacts. Microsoft has also improved the home screen so that users can now pivot through app functions. The Favorite Contact tiles are now smaller, allowing for three tiles across the screen.
