Skype for iOS was updated today and users with iPhones and iPads can look forward to call and video improvements with the app.
According to the changelog, the latest update to Skype for iOS is coming with 6.16 as its new version number and brings with it:
- We’ve made big improvements to how Skype works with external microphones, interfaces, and devices.
- You can now save video messages to your device, then share them with friends and family or on social media.
While not a huge feature packed release, every bit of tweaking the Skype team can do, on any platform, is undoubtedly appreciated. Perhaps the recent announcement of Allo and Duo as Google’s umpteenth entrance into the messaging fray may light a fire under the Skype team to beginning baking in more consumer-friendly messaging features soon.
