Skype for Linux updated, SMS feature added

Microsoft loves Linux

Windows and macOS users have enjoyed the SMS feature for quite a while now, and it seems like Linux users now have the same opportunity to send SMS from their Linux PC. There is a catch, however; you need a Skype number with valid Skype credits in order to use it.

Skype has had the option to call, and text, regular numbers for quite a while now and it’s not surprising to see such a standard feature appear in Skype for Linux. We have seen a couple of updates for Skype for Linux and every single of them has brought something new to the table.

The latest version is 1113, with a couple of fixes and improvements aside from the SMS function, like updating the core of the program to Electron 1.4.7 and other minor bug fixes. All of these improvements bring Skype for Linux closer to other operating systems and one day, Linux may enjoy a fully featured Skype application.
