September firmware updates are out for 5th gen Surface Pro, Surface Pro 6, Surface Book 1 and 2

Surface Pro 5

Microsoft has started rolling out a fresh set of firmware updates for its Surface Pro 5, Surface Pro 6, as well as Surface Book 1, and Surface Book 2 devices (via Neowin). The new bits are rolling out to devices that are running Windows 10 May 2019 Update (version 1903) or newer.

For the owners of the 5th gen Surface Pro and Surface Pro 6, the September 2020 firmware updates should bring Smart Charging reliability improvements for the convertible 2-in-1 tablets. The Surface Pro 6 is getting an additional update to improve the stability of the device in hibernation mode.

The changelog for both the devices is is pretty much identical across both devices and here’s what you should be seeing in Windows Update:

  • Surface UEFI – Firmware: 235.3261.768.0 Improves device stability during hibernate.
  • Surface System Aggregator – Firmware: 241.304.139.0 *Improves battery Smart Charging reliability.

Microsoft’s Surface Book 1 and 2 PCs are also getting some firmware updates today, and you can find the full details below.

  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050/1060 – Display adapters: 27.21.14.5167: Addresses security updates and improves system stability.
