Sea of Thieves already received a lot of post-launch content this year, and the flow of free content updates is apparently going to continue next year. First of all, a fourth extension called Shrouded Spoils is coming in November, but the pirate game will also get a new competitive mode called The Arena in early 2019.

Rare said during the XO18 livestream that The Arena will be “a whole new way to play the game.” Treasure hunting will remain a big part of this new competitive mode, which will also introduce a new trading company called the Sea Dogs. There are not a lot details yet except that first video trailer, but we should learn more about this new free expansion over the coming weeks.
