Sea of Thieves Fort of the Damned update is now live for everyone

The Sea of Thieves “Fort of the Damned” monthly content update is now available to all players of the game. The update includes new features that have a  “spooky” feel to them ahead of the holiday coming up in a couple more weeks.

New skeleton pets have arrived at the Pirate Emporium, the game’s in-game shop for purchasing exclusive items with the recently-added premium currency, Ancient Coins. The new pets—the Skeleton Cockatoo and the Skeleton Marmoset—are exclusive to the Fort of the Damned update and will be removed from the store when the next monthly content update takes over.

The update will also bring a new competition mode to The Arena, allowing players to compete against each other in a “two-person Sloop,” according to the Xbox Wire blog post. Additionally, six new contest locations have been introduced—each with two variations—featuring chests on Outposts for players to bring to very challenging delivery locations.

The update also brings a host of other goodies, including the new banjo interment for players to try. New cosmetics, loot, and Xbox achievements are also just a handful of what’s new, with the full list of additions available on the Sea of Thieves website.

The content update is rolling out to everyone who is currently playing Sea of Thieves—whether a purchased copy or though Xbox Game Pass—on Windows 10 or Xbox One free of charge. What do you think about the new additions?
