Sea of Thieves

Sea of Thieves is turning 3 years old this week, and developer Rare announced today that the pirate game has now been played by over 20 million players on Xbox and PC. To celebrate this new milestone, players will be able to snag free cosmetic items for a limited time, and the game is also 50% on the Microsoft Store off for its anniversary weekend.

Players who launch the game between today (10:00 UTC) and March 25 will receive this year’s anniversary gift: the Prosperous Captain’s Sails. Xbox Game Pass members can also get the free Jump for Joy Emote by logging in between March 18 and March 21, and Rare is also offering the Sea of Thieves Ocean Crawler Bundle as an exclusive perk for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members.

Sea of Thieves players can also win other goodies by watching streams from Sea of Thieves Partners on Twitch between March 19 and March 23. Last but not least, the first free issue of Rare’s latest Sea of Thieves Origins comic miniseries is now available on comiXology.

“From everyone at Rare, we’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who has joined us on the Sea of Thieves journey so far – 2021 is looking to be our biggest year yet, so stay tuned for more,” the team said today.
