Sea of Thieves has been one of Microsoft’s biggest titles, coming into the new year. It’s received a massive amount of hype as the game that intends to put Rare back on the map, after having its brand diminished since its glory days developing games like Donkey Kong Country and Goldeneye. After what seems like ages of waiting, we’re getting a beta to try the game out before it hits release.

The trial will be going on from January 24th to January 29th, and will be offering players a decent chunk of Sea of Thieves’ core gameplay loop. It’s not exactly an open beta, but access will be guaranteed to anybody who signed up to be a Sea of Thieves Insider – as well as anybody who pre-ordered the game.
If you’re not interested in the beta, and you just want to pick it up when it launches, Sea of Thieves will be available on March 20th. For those who are still making up their minds about the game, they can keep an eye on Twitch and YouTube over the beta period, as there will be no NDA stopping people from capturing footage.Further reading: Microsoft, Sea of Thieves, Xbox One
