This year, Microsoft’s Ignite conference targeted at the IT community will take place in Atlanta, GA from September 26-30, 2016. The event is a good opportunity for IT professionals and industry experts wanting some insight into upcoming technologies and opportunities to build out their skill sets on Microsoft’s software and services.
But this upcoming edition promises to be even more interesting as Microsoft has announced that CEO Satya Nadella will deliver the introducing keynote on September 26. The announcement on Microsoft’s Server and Cloud blog added that “Satya will provide his unique perspective on the technology trends shaping the future of business and enabling powerful new ways for people and organizations to work”.
This latest announcement is a nice way to conclude a series of confusing news about the conference’s organization that we reported in the last few months: after Microsoft first rescheduled and relocated its conference from May 2016 in Chicago to September 2016 in Atlanta, we also learned last month that Microsoft had disinvited its sponsor Okta due to broad competition between the two companies, before having a change of heart. Now, the stars are aligned for the second edition of Ignite to stand as one of the four main Microsoft events along Build, Convergence and the Worldwide Partner Conference.
