Samsung introduces the Ativ Book 9 with 4K display, Ativ Book 9 Spin As Well Multiple Viewing Angles

Ever since the launch of Windows 10 for desktop, we’ve seen several manufacturers introduce their top-of-the-line laptops and notebooks with the new operating system. It seems the Samsung doesn’t want to be left behind, and have updated their popular Ativ Book line up with two new laptops: the Ativ Book 9 Pro and Ativ Book 9 Spin.

The Ativ Book 9 Pro offers monstrous specifications, but with a hefty price tag, while the Ativ Book 9 Spin offers 350-degrees rotating touch display to make the most out of Windows 10, and offer users with three unique working modes, including traditional laptop, tented screen and tablet, allowing you to adjust the screen as per your needs to boost your productivity. The notebooks comes with aluminium designs to make them lightweight, making them easy to carry and travel with.

“Our new laptops show Samsung’s continued dedication to providing the best options for consumers so they can stay fully connected and productive from anywhere,” said Gary Riding, senior vice president, Mobile Computing at Samsung Electronics America. “The Pro and Spin both feature gorgeous touch screens, lighter designs, and seamless connectivity within the Samsung ecosystem and represent our continued effort to innovate in the PC market.”

As far as the specifications are concerned, the Ativ Book 9 Pro boasts a 15.6-inch display sporting a resolution of 3840 by 2160 pixels, while the Ativ Book 9 Spin comes with a 13.3-inch display with a resolution of 3200 by 1800 pixels. The graphics on the Ativ Book 9 Pro are handled by NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M Graphics with 2GB of memory, while the Ativ Book 9 Spin comes with Intel HD graphics.

The Ativ Book 9 Pro measures 14.72″ x 9.83″ x 0.70 and weighs 4.45 lbs, while the Ativ Book 9 Spin measures 12.39″ x 8.69″ x 0.59″ and weighs 2.87 lbs so you can rest assured that both these laptops are lightweight and easy to carry around.

Both laptops are equipped with the 6th generation Intel Core i7 processor with speeds up to 2.5GHz for the Ativ Book 9 Spin and 2.6GHz for the Ativ Book 9 Pro, as well as up to 8GB of RAM, 256GB of SSD storage, and ships with Windows 10 Home.

Both machines also boast HDMI, headphones, microphones, memory cards, 802.11 ac 2×2, backlit keyboard, 720p HD web camera for conferencing, Bluetooth 4.1 and USB ports. The Ativ Book 9 Pro also features a USB Type-C connector. The company touts the Ativ Book 9 Pro can provide users with up to 6.5 hours of battery time, while its smaller sibling can offer up to 7.3 hours of battery time. The battery timing may not be perfect, but the machines are quite powerful. Nonetheless, it’s worth mentioning that the real world usage may vary depending on the way you use it, and the tasks you use it for.

If you want to get your hands on any one of the laptops, you’ll have to shell out a hefty sum for them. Samsung Ativ Book 9 Pro carries a $1,599 price tag, while the Ativ Book 9 Spin costs $1,399. Both machines will hit the retail shelves this month and will be exclusively available from Best Buy, as well as through Samsung.com — the company’s online store in the US.
