With the Surface RT tablet being launched by Microsoft not too long ago and the Surface Pro expected in January, a new rumor has surfaced claiming that Microsoft is planning on releasing three more Surface tablets next year. These thee new tablets seem to be the “next generation” evolution of the current offerings.

According to the report, the first tablet will be an 8.6 inch Surface RT 2, powered by a Qualcomm chipset (rather than the Nvidia Tegra 3). There will also be a new Surface Pro tablet that will upgrade to a 11.6 inch display powered by an AMD Temash chip. The report also claims that there will be a new Surface Book product that will have a 14.6 inch display powered by an Intel Haswel chip. Microsoft has officially announced the pricing for the Surface Pro recently, which has yet to be released but is expected in January of 2013. The Surface Pro will come in two flavors, a 64GB model for $899 and a 128GB model for $999, and the ability to run desktop applications (x86 and x64). All we know is that these tablets are expected in 2013, according to the rumor. As with all rumors, take it with a grain of salt. More on this as it develops.
