Red Dead Redemption 2, one of the most anticipated games of 2018, has once again been delayed. The sequel to Rockstar Games’ critically-acclaimed Western-themed title was originally expected to be released in Fall 2017, but the company first pushed back its release to Q2 2018. Yesterday, the company announced that the game is now expected to be released on October 26, 2018, a usually crowded period for blockbuster releases.

“We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay, the company said yesterday. “While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish. In the meantime, the company shared some beautiful new screenshots of the game, such as the one below.

Since GTA V became one of the best-selling video games of all time worldwide, Rockstar Games can’t really afford to disappoint with Red Dead Redemption 2. However, this new delay means that the game will have to compete for attention with new Battlefield, Call of Duty releases during the Fall season. We still don’t know much details about the game though, and the new an open-world adventure may well be able to outshine all other blockbuster releases later this year.
