Report: Nokia in talks with Microsoft about Windows Phone 7

In what would only be a major game changer for the smartphone platform battle, Mobile-Review reports that Nokia is apparently in talks with Microsoft to bring Windows Phone 7 to a new line of Nokia devices. If true, this would provide Microsoft a great worldwide launch platform with Nokia’s massive resources. Nokia would be able to benefit from a modern smartphone OS and they would no longer be stuck with the ailing Symbian OS. It’s worth noting that Nokia are currently co-developing their own mobile OS, Meego, with Intel, and it’s unclear what would happen to that OS if Nokia were to choose Microsoft.
