The hit Xbox 360 video game, Red Dead Redemption, is now available to download and play on the Xbox One thanks to the backwards compatibility feature of the current gen console. Owners of the digital version of the Xbox 360 version can now find it in the Xbox Store while owners of the physical disk version can simply insert it into the Xbox One and begin playing. Save data from the Xbox 360 version will transfer to the Xbox One via the cloud so it’s important to remember to save and backup game data on the previous console before loading it up on the Xbox One.

Those Xbox One owners who have never played Red Dead Redemption can buy it via the Xbox Store on their Xbox One console or via the Xbox app or online store.

Here’s the game description: America, 1911. The Wild West is dying. When federal agents threaten his family, former outlaw John Marston is forced to pick up his guns again and hunt down the gang of criminals he once called friends. Experience an epic fight for survival across the sprawling expanses of the American West and Mexico, as John Marston struggles to bury his blood-stained past, one man at a time.
