Microsoft Planner

Microsoft announced a couple of features available in Planner. For those unfamiliar with this tool, it is part of the Microsoft 365 suite that is designed to help users stay organized with their tasks both at work and school. You can use it to create plans, assign tasks, chat about tasks, and see charts of your team’s progress.

First up is the “highly requested” recurring tasks feature which comes with custom repeat settings. Essentially, users will now be able to set up tasks that recur often to repeat themselves automatically based on their preferred intervals. It will especially come in handy for monthly reports, weekly progress reviews, and more. This is on top of the already existing capability that lets users move tasks to any of their plans.

Next up is the Grid View feature that lets users view their tasks easily. According to Microsoft:

This view enhances the way you interact with and understand the tasks that make up your plan, allowing you to easily add new tasks, make quick edits, and see more details about each item without the need to open individual task details.

What’s more, this feature is available across all plans including the Assigned to Me tab. This means that you can view all tasks assigned to you across all plans in the Planner in one convenient location.
