Rare fixes "Too Early" issue affecting Sea of Thieves beta gamers

It looks like some Xbox One owners who pre-ordered Sea of Thieves on Xbox One are receiving an error message that they "are too early" to play the Closed Beta. Sea of Thieves is set to be released on March 20, 2018, but those who pre-ordered the game can participate in the Closed Beta. However, users reported problems downloading Sea of Thieves and are experiencing an error message, as seen in the IGN screenshot below.

On Twitter, Sea of Thieves acknowledged the issue, and said that a new update should have resolved the issue for "most of the players" and there may be some unresolved cases that should be fixed in the next "two hours."

On the Sea of Thieves blog, there is more information on how to resolve any additional issues concerning the Sea of Thieves Closed Beta:

"A fix for this was issued on the evening of the 24th (UK time) and is rolling out continuously to the affected players. Therefore, this fix has already resolved this issue for the majority of these players. We are currently investigating on behalf of those players still receiving this error message and we will update this page in due course.

We advise all customers who have pre-ordered digitally through the Xbox or Windows digital Store to download the Xbox Insider Hub app on Xbox One or Windows 10 PC. Enroll into the Sea of Thieves Closed Beta through this app. This is to ensure that you will receive no additional disruptions in gaining access to the Sea of Thieves Closed Beta.

If you do not see the Closed Beta in the Inside Hub immediately, we advise waiting a few hours for the existing fix to roll out. If you still do not see it by midnight tonight (January 25th), please raise a ticket with the support team."

Download the Xbox Insider Hub for Xbox One and Windows 10 PC.
