Rainway will let gamers play PC games on their Xbox One & Nintendo Switch consoles
Rainway has announced that they’ll be launching their open beta on January 20th. Rainway is an experimental service that aims to provide gamers with a free way to stream PC and mobile video games to their Xbox One and Nintendo Switch consoles. A new trailer shows Rainway in action.
“We’re happy to share with you today our vision for the future of PC and mobile gaming. With Rainway we hope to usher in true device agnostic gaming using our low latency streaming technology,” the YouTube video’s description reads. “Pair Rainway with your favorite console or smart phone for an unprecedented experience.”
The open beta will be for Rainway’s web platform which means that it won’t work on the Xbox One just yet but gamers should be able to try out streaming a PC game from one computer to another or even a tablet or smartphone and play it in the web browser.
Interested gamers can sign up for the open beta on the official Rainway website.
Microsoft launched a similar service within the Windows 10 Xbox app which allows Xbox One console owners to stream their gameplay to a Windows 10 PC that’s on the same Wi-Fi connection. There is no option for streaming a game running on a Windows 10 PC to an Xbox One though so Rainway, if it works as well as it looks in the trailer, could be a popular tool for many people.
