Quantum Break: Watch a 16 min gameplay of a world running out of time itself

It has not quite been a year since the Xbox One has been released, and since then, there have been games such as Ryse: Son of Rome and Titanfall that have been showcased to represent the power of ‘next-gen.’ Quantum Break, a game developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by Microsoft, could be the next addition to reasons to buy the Xbox One.

Part of the hype is a somewhat unique plot. At Riverport University, a time experiment goes horribly wrong, causing time itself to start breaking down. The hero, Jack Joyce, is caught in the blast – and in true super hero fashion – gains the power to manipulate time. “He is fighting to stop the end of time, and time is literally running out.” His collogue and close friend, Paul Serene, goes to the future via a time machine and becomes the fanatical head of a company, Monarch Solutions. Jack is an obstacle for the Serene of the future’s plans.

Jack can slow down time, and this results in an interesting game play where bullets slow down around you as you run around shooting people or barrels, which then explode spectacularly as time speeds up again.

You can watch the released 16 minute video, featuring background of the plot, and some wicked gameplay, here:

The game will be released next year, and we look forward to see it live up to its hype. As always, we’ll have the latest news as we get closer to the release date of the title.
