Quantum Break joins Gears of War in supporting Windows 10 frame rate and sync improvements

It’s been nearly a week since Microsoft released an update to Windows 10 that finally allows UWP games to run as smoothly as their Win32 counterparts. While developers still need to update their games to enable support for unlocked frame rates as well as AMD’s FreesyncTM and NVIDIA’s G-SYNC technologies, Gears of War Ultimate: Edition was the first UWP game to be updated last week with v-sync options and more.

However, according to a new report from Windows Central, another Microsoft Studios title is next in line to receive a similar update that will likely please gamers on Windows 10 PCs: according to a tweet from Remedy’s Head of PR Thomas Puha, the Quantum Break developer is currently working on an update that will bring support for G-Sync/FreeSync to the game which will help eliminate lag, screen tearing and stutter issues.

While Puha didn’t share an ETA for the update, we can’t wait to see how it will improve the gameplay experience on gaming PCs. As a reminder, the game’s recommended specs are pretty high with an Intel Core i5-4690 3.9GHz CPU, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX970 or AMD Radeon R9 390 and 16 GB of RAM.
