Pre-orders open for Marvel Battlegrounds Play Set, March 15 delivery

Disney Infinity 3.0, a cross-platform game, is a getting a new Marvel Battlegrounds Play Set, which will hit the retail stores on March 15th with the pre-orders kicking off today. John Vignocchi, VP of production for Disney Infinity, said “it’s one of the most fun play sets we’ve ever made, and unlike anything we’ve ever offered.” Vignocchi also offered details about the pricing and availability of the new Marvel Battlegrounds Play Set.

It’s a four-player, arcade style game where you can battle with up to three friends locally. There are 12 different levels across eight arenas to play in. As with the previous play sets, it will be a buy once, play on all platforms play set so you can play it on your Xbox 360 or your PC or Steam, etc. The Play Set will also be compatible with Disney Infinity 2.0 or 3.0 characters, making it the “largest selection of playable characters.”

“Marvel Battlegrounds is a four-player, arcade-style brawler that allows you to battle with up to three friends locally. You get to play in 12 levels across eight all-new arenas, including Knowhere and Wakanda. You’ll also be able to battle as any playable “Disney Infinity (2.0 Edition): Marvel Super Heroes” figure, making Marvel Battlegrounds the Play Set with the largest selection of playable characters”, Vignocchi said in a blog post.

The Play Set costs $29.99, and there are some additional benefits if you pre-order as early as possible. If you pre-order the Play Set until March 14th, you’ll get a “Disney Infinity (2.0 Edition): Marvel Super Heroes” character of your choice in the US, provided there are enough supplies. Additionally, it also comes with the Play Set piece and one figure (Captain America – The First Avenger) for that price rage.
