Earlier this week, Microsoft rolled out PowerToys version 0.41.3 that brought a bunch of improvements to the suite of tools, including a new Awake tool. Today, the company has followed up with a minor update to fix a high CPU usage bug and a few other issues in the tool (via Neowin).

If you’re unfamiliar, the new PowerToys Awake feature allows users to keep their PC awake on-demand either indefinitely or for a specific time. It has been designed to help people focus on their important tasks; however, some users have been experiencing very high CPU consumption while running the Awake tool.

The company says that the latest patch aims to the high CPU usage issue in version 0.41.3. The update also comes with improvements to the PowerToys Run, FancyZones, and other utilities.

Here’s the full list of improvements and fixes in PowerToys version 0.41.4:

  • #11898 – PowerToys Run crashing when selecting search results
  • #11912 – Awake has high CPU usage
  • #11955 – PowerToys Run error on Windows Startup
  • #11964 – Add “PowerToys” to Awake in systray
  • #12031 – FancyZones unable to start correctly
  • #12044 – Image resizes to 1×1

If you are interested in trying out PowerToys on Windows 10, you can download the version 0.41.4 update from the GitHub releases page. However, existing PowerToys users can also install the latest version manually directly through the tool.
