A recent job posting on gamejobs.co has revealed that British developer Playground Games Limited is seeking a level designer to join its Forza team. This seems to be a pretty clear indication that development has already begun on the next installment of the popular open world racing series, though it is almost certainly only in the pre-production stage at this early point.
However, part of the listing reads, “As a member of the design team on a AAA title, you’ll take responsibility for large sections of the game’s level design, as well as mentoring and leading junior teammates.” This suggests a leadership position on the level design team, which in turn suggests that full-scale production of the game might begin sooner than later.

This comes scarcely 6 months after the launch of Forza Horizon 5, which was an almost instantaneous success, releasing to universal acclaim and garnering over 10 million players in its first week. With that kind of success, its not hard to see why Microsoft and Xbox Game Studios would be anxious to get started with a follow-up.
Founded in 2009 and best known as the developer of the Forza Horizon series, Playground Games became part of what is now Xbox Game Studios in 2018. The studio is also developing the reboot of the classic Fable franchise.
