PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) finally gets a South American server

Starting today until October 15, 2018, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) on Xbox One will have a server in South America. As noted in a post on PUBG’s blog, the server announcement will be made “alongside the opening the Brasil Game Show.”

Here are the specifics on PUBG server in South America (SA):

South America Server Open Dates:

  • Starts: October 11 11:00PM BRT
  • Ends: October 15 02:00AM BRT

Available Modes:

  • TPP
  • Solo
  • Squad
  • Event Mode not available
  • Duo not available
  • FPP not available

Maps

  • All maps are available.

PUBG will “gauge interest from the SA community and see if we can maintain a healthy CCU (concurrent users) and matchmaking times – not just on the SA server, but across all regions as adding a new server will impact the game globally.”

During the time that the South American server is online, PUBG will see if there is enough of a PUBG community to establish a full-time server. The limited time SA server is also being used to “test matchmaking times for everyone, we may extend the SA server open dates, or permanently implement the SA server into the game.”

Starting today in South America, PUBG players can test out the server and provide feedback on their game experience. Be sure to let the PUBG team know your thoughts, feedback, bugs, and performance issues you may experience through FIX PUBG.
