Battlefield 1, the much-anticipated shooter from EA Dice and latest installment in the popular video game franchise, is now available to play for a limited time for EA Access subscribers. Starting today, Xbox One owners can try a 10-hour Play First trial including five maps (St. Quentin Scar, Amiens, Sinai Desert, Fan Fortress, Suez), four different multiplayer modes plus a sneak peek at the game’s single player campaign. Even better, EA Access members who try the game for free during this limited trial will be able to pick up right where they left off if they decide to purchase the game after its worldwide release next week (subscribers will also get 10% off their purchase).
While we don’t have all the details about the game’s solo campaign yet, multiplayer is still expected to be the game’s main highlight with intense battles between up to 64 players. Today, the Xbox team published a new blog post on Xbox Wire to share some details about the four multiplayer modes that are now available to try:
- Conquest: An all-time fan favorite of Battlefield players, Conquest is a large-scale game mode with up to 64 players fighting for the control of key objectives.
- Domination: Domination offers a fast-paced infantry focused combat in close quarter locations. It’s a smaller, but more focused version of Conquest, and the fighting revolves around strategic objectives.
- Operations: New in Battlefield 1, Operations offer epic journeys across several maps based upon real battles of World War I.
- Rush: The Attacking forces must find and destroy the Defending force’s Telegraph Posts, which the defenders can use to call in artillery strikes.
Battlefield 1 will be released worldwide on October 21, but those of you who pre-ordered the $79.99 Early Enlister Deluxe Edition will be allowed to play it starting October 18. Lastly, EA access members can unlock some exclusive game content if try the game between today and October 20, and they will also be able to access the game’s full list of maps and modes on October 18 if they don’t use all their free play time before that date.
