People, Messaging + Skype apps snag feature updates on Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile

| |

Microsoft has released a new update for the People and  Messaging + Skype apps on Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile today. While a change log hasn't been posted about any new features or big changes for either app, a few aesthetic changes have been noticed, as our friends from Windows Central pointed out.
For the People app, which saw a version update from 3351 to 3451:

  • The AppBar has changed color from black to gray
  • Within Contacts the AppBar is reduced in size
  • Refresh button is now under each contact, removed from the Main Hub

For Microsoft's Messaging + Skype app, the updates are also minor. The new app build changes numbers from 2.12.9011.0 to 1.11.19004.0 to help in finding this latest update. A few changes that have been noticed from the Windows Central comment section are:

  • Animated emojis in Skype
  • A UI change in Messaging that better highlights contacts and which conversation you are replying within, when in "Phablet mode"

This isn't a huge update for the Microsoft apps, but most likely offer key bug fixes, as usual. Be sure to click on the links below to download the latest updates, and let us know in the comments how you've been using these apps and are enjoying the latest updates.
