Panasonic introduces latest Toughbook, a Windows 10 2-n-1, at MWC

Mobile World Congress 2017 kicked off yesterday in Barcelona, and several OEMs have already announced interesting new Windows 10 PCs for both consumers and business users. Earlier today, Panasonic announced the Toughbook CF-33, a 2-in-1 detachable PC designed for outdoor use in heavy rain or bright sunlight.

The Toughbook CF-33 will be available as a simple tablet weighing 1.527kg or as a detachable laptop with its keyboard dock weighing 2.761 kg. It comes with a 12″ 10-finger capacitive dual touch QHD screen (2160 x 1440 pixels) as well as a IP55 digitizer pen to work with Windows Ink.

Under the hood, the 2-in-1 device can be configured with an Intel 7th gen Core processor, but there are also options for a 4G LTE antenna and a U-Blox NEO-M8 GPS. Other highlights include twin hot swappable batteries and a four-day battery charger to make sure that mobile workers won’t run out of juice in the field

In the US, the Panasonic Toughbook CF-33 will be available in May 2017 from authorized Panasonic resellers with prices starting around $3,499 for the tablet only model and $4,099 for model with detachable keyboard. For European customers, the 2-in-1 device will be available in Q2 2017 and come with a three-year warranty. The tablet only model will be available € 2992 / £ 2213 + vat and the detachable model at € 3552 / £ 2627 + vat.
