If you’re the sort of gamer that’s only really interested in Xbox, then let me tell you: Nintendo’s Mario Maker game was a huge deal. For those who don’t know, Mario Maker came out last year as a tool for Mario fans to create their own levels. The game was widely loved by critics and audiences, praised for its ability to turn game/level design into something both fun and approachable for the everyday gamer. It was a huge success, and it’s naturally going to have some follow-ups from companies looking to iterate on the idea.
Enter Pac-Man Maker. The title idea came from a trademark registered recently by Bandai Namco, and that’s.. Just about all we have. No pitch from an executive, no trailer, no nothing. We’ll have to let this one simmer for a while. Until then, we should sit back and think about the potential this game could have. Pac-Man definitely has the potential to become one of these level-design games, so this is definitely a feasible project. If it does get made, there’s a very good chance it’ll be on Xbox – the console has a long history with Pac-Man, including some Xbox One titles.
Would you play a Pac-Man Maker game? Do you think there’s enough depth in the IP to make something like this? We’d love to hear your speculation in the comments. With E3 approaching fast, there’s no telling what kind of stuff could be on the horizon.Further reading: Bandai Namco, Microsoft, Xbox One
