Outlook for iOS adds ‘Up Next’ reminders to the top of your inbox

Jonny Caldwell

Outlook mobile for iOS has just been updates on the App Store. While the changeling is small, it does add a potentially handy new feature for those keeping up with appointments and such.

The Outlook app on iOS will now display upcoming reminders that are due within the next 30 minutes at the top of the email inbox. No other features, or even bug fixes, were mentioned in the changelog, which reads:

Stay on top of your upcoming events! Outlook now surfaces what’s Up Next in your calendar right at the top of your inbox, 30 minutes before the start of your event.

Outlook, despite being a competitor for other services such as Gmail, has always been known for more than just email. Calendar management is a big focus for Outlook, and the new feature—which further helps users to keep up with upcoming events—makes it even more useful.

Microsoft is also in the process of rolling out Cortana integration in the app for handsfree use. Users will be able to listen to emails, as well as flag, reply, and delete them, all while using only voice commands.
