Original Xbox One price drops even further to $279

Two weeks before E3 we saw Microsoft drop the price of Xbox One bundles to as low as $299. It wasn’t the first time the price had gone so low for the most basic Xbox One bundles, but it signaled that Microsoft was looking to clear out some older inventory before the announcement of new consoles at E3.

Now that Microsoft has unveiled the 4k video enabled Xbox One S, the Microsoft Store is dropping the price of the standard 500 GB Xbox One by another $20 to $279. According to the Verge, this promotional deal is expected to run until October 1st, at which point the Xbox One S will have already started shipping in August.
