OneDrive for iOS gets an update with fixes for background music and more

Microsoft is taking good  care of its major consumer iOS apps today: while the Skype app has just been updated with some bug fixes and improvements plus a new feature to let users easily build their contacts list, the OneDrive app is also getting a minor update to fix some bugs that may have plaguing the experience on iOS devices.

Please read the complete changelog below:

  • Fixed an issue where users would encounter an endless spinner in the Sites tab.
  • We also fixed an issue where music stopped playing in the background. Thanks to everyone who reported it!
  • Constantly getting signed out or having any other problems? Shake your device and let us know. This requires a consumer account to be signed in.

If you’ve been using the OneDrive app to play music and have been affected by the background music issue, we can recommend that you try Microsoft’s Groove Music app instead. While the iOS app doesn’t get as much love as its Windows 10 counterpart, it’s still a no-brainer if you have a huge music collection stored in OneDrive as the Groove app will allow you to add your songs to playlists and download your music to enjoy it when you’re off the grid.
