OneDrive for iOS adds SharePoint Online integration

Posted in:

Microsoft has been announcing a huge amount of news around their intranet and content collaboration solution, SharePoint, and their “Future of SharePoint” event going on this week in San Francisco. Not to be left out of the activities is the OneDrive team, which has pushed a very timely update to their iOS app.

Specifically, OneDrive version 7.0 adds in some highly relevant functionality:

Whether it’s your files or your team’s files, we want you to be able to access them from OneDrive. As a result, we are introducing:

  • SharePoint Online Integration: If you have a work or school account, you may notice a new “Sites” tab. This will give you direct access to all your documents and files in SharePoint, so you can stay productive on the go!
  • Coming Soon: Office 365 groups and SharePoint Server 2016 & 2013 support

If you’re using a SharePoint Online solution, then you should be pretty excited about this update. If your organization has their own SharePoint 2013 or 2016 service installed in the local data center, then stay tuned, because Microsoft will be supporting those installations as well.
