Today is a big day. Microsoft has just made its iconic productivity suite, Office, available on iPad. It includes Word, Excel and PowerPoint clients. If you remember, last year, the company had released Office Mobile for iPhone and Android devices as well. Today, the software giant made Office Mobile free to all home users.
At an event in San Francisco, Microsoft announced that home users – i.e. the people using the service for personal use, won’t need to have an Office 365 subscription to access the client.
While Office Mobile is a great way to create, view and edit documents from within the phone, it comes with limited functionality. Windows Phone users already have Office on their mobile. Also, before today, Android and iPhone users were required to possess an Office 365 subscription in order to access the app.
Microsoft has hinted that the Office Mobile app will soon get a major update in which many new features will be added to the service. Are you excited about Office for iPad?
