Office for iOS apps updated with enhanced printing and sharing support

Microsoft has released a new update to its Office Mobile apps on iOS devices, bumping the version to 1.23. This new batch of updates bring useful features to the productivity apps such as the ability to print documents from the app of your choice, more functional Shared and Recent tabs and more. You can read the full changelog below:

  • Print your documents, workbooks and presentations from the app of your choice.
  • See documents, workbooks and presentations others have recently shared with you, and search directly on the Shared and Recent tabs.
  • Automatically transform your drawings into shapes in Excel and Powerpoint

As a reminder, the apps are free to use on iPhones and iPads, though you will need an Office 365 subscription to unlock the full capabilities of the apps and be able save documents in OneDrive for Business or on SharePoint. Moreover, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro is the only iOS device to require an Office 365 subscription to use the apps to create and edit documents. If you use the Office apps on your iPhone or iPad, let us know what you think of these new features in the comments below.
