Microsoft is about to make Office.com the default landing page for Office 365 customers when they log in. The company announced the change on its Microsoft 365 roadmap this week, and Office.com should become the default start page for all Office 365 commercial users in March.

As of today, it’s possible for Office 365 customers to set their own start page when they log into Office 365. But as Microsoft updated Office.com to highlight recently used apps as well as recommended files and places, it seems that the company now considers Office.com as a good enough landing page for all commercial users.

This arbitrary change is likely to be problematic for some Office 365 customers, as is the recent move to make OneDrive/SharePoint Online the default save location for Office 365 files. There are probably many Office 365 customers who never check Office.com, though adding your favorite Office 365 apps to your bookmarks should be a good-enough workaround for most users.

Will you be bothered by this change, and do you think Microsoft should continue to let Office 365 customers choose their favorite landing page? Sound off in the comments below.
