Microsoft announced today the Office 2019 for Mac Preview for commercial customers, which follows the release of the Office 2019 Preview two months ago. Both Office 2019 for Mac and Office 2019 for Windows will ship later this year, and these new versions will target customers who don’t want to get the productivity suite through Microsoft’s Office 365 offering.
Office 2019 for Mac includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote, which will all come with new features that are already included in Office 365 ProPlus. “Updates include the roaming pencil case and ribbon customizations across Office apps; focus mode in Word; Morph transitions, in-click sequence, and 4k video export in PowerPoint; new charts and functions in Excel; and focused inbox in Outlook,” explained Jared Spataro, Corporate Vice President for Office.
In addition to these new productivity features, Office 2019 for Mac will also come with new tools that will help IT admins manage updates and enforce security policies. You can learn more about how to participate in the Office 2019 Commercial Preview program on this page.
